Ingredients
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- ¼ cup shredded cheese
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons chopped bell pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped tomato
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon butter or oil
- Fresh coriander or parsley, optional
Long Instructions
1. Prepare the egg mixture
Crack the eggs into a bowl. Add the milk, salt, and black pepper. Whisk thoroughly until the eggs are smooth and the yolks and whites are completely combined. The milk helps make the omelette soft and fluffy.
2. Prepare the vegetables
Finely chop the onion, bell pepper, and tomato. Keeping the pieces small helps them cook properly inside the omelette without making it difficult to fold.
3. Add the cheese
Mix about half of the shredded cheese into the beaten eggs. Keep the remaining cheese for the top.
4. Prepare the air fryer dish
Use a small oven-safe dish, cake pan, or silicone container that fits comfortably inside your air fryer basket. Lightly grease it with butter or oil so the omelette doesn’t stick.
5. Preheat the air fryer
Preheat to 180°C (350°F) for about 3 minutes.
6. Add the vegetables
Spread the chopped onion, bell pepper, and tomato evenly in the greased dish.
7. Pour in the eggs
Carefully pour the egg mixture over the vegetables. Don’t fill the dish all the way to the top because the omelette will puff up as it cooks.
8. Add more cheese
Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the surface.
9. Air fry
Place the dish carefully into the air fryer. Cook at 180°C (350°F) for about 8–12 minutes.
Start checking around 8 minutes because air fryers vary.
10. Check the center
The omelette should be set in the center and lightly golden around the edges. If the middle is still runny, cook for another 1–2 minutes.
11. Rest briefly
Remove the dish carefully—the dish will be very hot. Let the omelette rest for about 1–2 minutes before serving.
12. Serve
Loosen the edges with a spatula, then slide the omelette onto a plate. Add fresh coriander or parsley if desired.
🧀 Delicious Variations
Cheese & Ham: Add chopped cooked ham and extra cheddar.
Spinach & Feta: Add finely chopped spinach and crumbled feta.
Mushroom Omelette: Add thinly sliced mushrooms. For best results, cook watery vegetables such as mushrooms separately first.
Chicken Omelette: Add a small amount of cooked, shredded chicken.
Spicy Omelette: Add chopped chili, a pinch of chili flakes, or a little hot sauce.
